Ryan Field has a wonderful knack of turning a classic story into a modern day tale. To me, his books are a delicious romp, which are filled with memorable characters, quick-witted dialog, hot sex scenes and a fast-paced storyline that never fails to please me.  In “All About Yves”, Ryan once more works his magic on the classic tale, All about Eve.  Even though the stories parallel in some ways, as usual, Ryan is able to give the classic story a fresh and interesting flair that kept the book unique in its own right.

Marco Denny is a very famous and popular model.  He started modeling as a young boy, and has grown up to become the poster boy of being a highly successful model.  At thirty-five, Marco lives a very charmed life.  He’s been happily partnered with a successful designer, Frazier North, for almost fifteen years. Together they’ve become a major part of the movers and the shakers of the fickle fashion industry. Marco surrounds himself with a knit of very close and trusting friends, and within their little circle they live a life of privilege and great success.  Although the life of a fashion model may be a fruitful one, it’s not a long one.  With Marco rapidly approaching middle age, time is not on his side.  Even though he is still very popular, Marco is very aware that his moment in the spotlight will soon come to an end.

Lately, Marco has been working as a reality spokesperson and he hates it.  Although Marco has a big heart, he still gets worked up into a diva mode when he has to participate in something that he doesn’t want to do.  One day, he had just finished taping his reality show gig, and as usual it had put him in a bad mood.  Marco is in the middle of giving his partner and one of his best friends a self-serving-mini-rant about how miserable he is when one of his other friends interrupts him by unexpectedly introducing him to, Yves Marsiano.  Yves is a shy and meek young man who claims to be a devoted fan.  At first Marco has reservations about the scruffy and seemingly shy and star-struck Yves.  But, as the young man starts to talk, Marco begins to see the devotion that Yves has for him. Soon Marco starts warming up to the sweet Yves, and somehow finds himself taking the young man under his wing and hiring him as his personal assistant.

Yves immediately becomes a staple in Marco’s life.  He waits on him hand and foot, and begins to develop a quick sense of what Marco needs BEFORE he needs it.  Marco soon becomes a little spoiled by all of the extra attention that Yves gives him.  Not only does Yves charm Marco, but he charms everyone else in Marco’s life as well.  But, as the seemingly sweet and innocent Yves solidifies himself in Marco’s world, he slowly starts to change.  Soon, Yves becomes a carbon copy of Marco himself by mimicking everything from his walk and his hairstyle to the way he dresses. As Marco comes to the realization that Yves is out to steal the life he has built for himself, he cannot get Frazier and his close circle of friends to believe Yves deception.

Will Marco be able to keep the life he has worked so hard for or will he lose everything he holds dear to him to a smart con-artist?

Even though the story really revolves around Marco and Yves, there are other strong relationships and other plots going on in the book as well.  Marco and Frazier’s love is really tested in this book.  I particularly enjoyed their long lasting and very loving relationship.  I thought that their love was built on a strong foundation that I, as a reader, really appreciated.  They still had devotion, passion, love and a strong friendship between them that I believe most people would be slightly envious of.

I know this will sound strange, but I also adored Yves.  He was a conniving and deceptive con artist, and I simply adored him.  He was a character that I knew I should hate, and I did have moments that I disliked him, but overall I loved him.  Even when he gets what’s coming to him, I couldn’t help but wonder if there could be anyone that would be able to melt his lying, cold heart.  Probably not…sigh.

There are also several interesting twists and turns in this book that kept me glued to my e-reader.  I thought “All About Yves” was very well written, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
